GARETH GETS HIS WIN

Isle of Man DH Round 2 Arrasey Plantation 02/05/2010

The fast and dusty(!) arrasey track made for a great days racing. With roots, rocks, jumps and the brilliant rough descent proved popular with the riders and marshals alike.

The junior race saw Matthew Clague take a great win, which took him to 11th overall, by 14 seconds from Cai Illingworth. Callum Purves was third with debut racer calum Johnson (me) in fourth.

The senior race was a fast and furious affair. Lee Corlett took the win from Peter Kermeen with Daniel Corkish third. The top three senior times were only separated by 11 seconds, which means the racing can only get faster! Sean Kelly, Ben Corkill and James Richmond were 4th,5th and 6th placed respectively.

Gareth Fargher took a phenomenal win in the precedented masters race. Russ was only 5 seconds behind (take note Gareth) with Lee Marshall third a further 16 seconds back. Richie Cryer took 4th on the difficult track with Kevin Marshall and Slavek Marchewka putting in good rides to take 5th and 6th respectively.

I would personally like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged me (Cal Johnson) at my first race, I found it very helpful!.

The club would like to thank:' the marshals,graham & sue,steve manx 1st aid, the uplift drivers,4 wheel drive centre, brian perrin for the radios & everyone who helped bring the course in afterwards, it was a great days racing, the track was sweet & hope you guys enjoyed it.

Everyone also thanks the photographers and filmers who gave up their time to come and photograph and, well.... film us! Also, props to the track builders, who made a stunning course out of not a lot at arrasey. Thanks to everyone who came, it made a cracking days racing. Next round is Ballaspit on May 30th.
